Francisca Branco’s Bio
Francisca Branco is a Portuguese classically trained soprano. She studied with Ghislaine Morgan in London, and completed a Bachelor degree in Classical Singing and a Master degree in Early Music Singing at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague.
Among her coaches, she has had the opportunity to study with Sasja Hunnego, Catrin Wyn-Davies, Peter Kooj, Francesca Aspromonte, Pascal Bertin, Phyllis Ferweda and Tineke Steenbrink.
Francisca is a versatile performer with experience in a wide variety of styles and settings, specializing in Early Music and contemporary repertoire.
She regularly performs with professional groups such as the Gulbenkian Choir, Bachkoor Holland, and Laurens Collegium among others. She has also coordinated several editions of the Sintra’s International Singing and Choral Conducting Course with Ghislaine Morgan in Portugal and France, and was an assistant at her International Renaissance Course in Casole d’Elsa, Italy.
Francisca had her operatic debut in a production of Chiel Meijering’s St. Louis Blues created by Touchstones and Orkest Ereprijs, with whom she also collaborated during three editions of Young Composers Meeting (Apeldoorn).
Francisca has a passion for teaching, following the pedagogical and technical principles of Janice Chapman and Ron Morris. Her coaching sessions are dynamic and tailor-made for each student, with a wide range of learning approaches and tools.
